The Greensboro Children’s Museum (GCM) opened its newest indoor exhibit “Water Wonders” on Monday, Oct. 29. Located in the Our Town area of the Museum, the water feature will offer the captivating sensory experience of playing and controlling water for children of all ages. Children can investigate concepts of volume, weight, pressure, force, buoyancy, density and displacement., as well as make decisions, test ideas, and engage problem-solving skills. Waterproof smocks and hand dryers will be available in the exhibit area.
The water feature is Phase 2 of the Museum’s “Reaching Greater Heights” expansion project and capital campaign, which launched in 2015 with the objective of opening multiple signature features to strengthen GCM’s mission. Phase 1 was completed in summer 2017 with the addition of the Outdoor Play Plaza.
We are thrilled with Phase 1 of Reaching Greater Heights and love hearing the many positive comments from our guests. The community has been incredibly generous in making this transformation possible and we cannot wait to hear the response from Phase 2!
You can stop by and enjoy Water Wonders seven days a week with Mondays being exclusively for GCM members.
