As we continue to closely monitor announcements surrounding the coronavirus (COVID-19), the Greensboro Children’s Museum will act in accordance with Governor Roy Cooper’s recommendations to limit mass gatherings. The Greensboro Children’s Museum will close to the public on Saturdays and Sundays, effective March 14. Birthday parties will continue as scheduled with our routine room cleaning and sanitizing.

The Greensboro Children’s Museum was built and is sustained by the support of its community. With the recent outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), I want to assure you that the safety of our visitors, our employees and volunteers, and our community are at the forefront of every conversation we’re currently having. As of now, GCM will remain open to the public during its normal operating hours.
We are staying well informed and closely monitoring announcements by officials from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Guilford County School Public System. With new developments being released each day, please stay connected by checking our website and social media before your next visit.
As a public facility, GCM has strong, existing practices around cleanliness and safety. Please review our everyday cleaning procedures. Due to the increased threats surrounding COVID-19, we have greatly increased the frequency in which we clean and sanitize our exhibits, restrooms, nursing room, and movable toys throughout the day. It’s all hands on deck at the Museum as our entire staff is currently participating in the daily practice of cleaning of the Museum floor during operating hours, in addition to our nightly deep cleaning performed by a professional cleaning crew.
To prevent the spread of illness, we are respectfully asking visitors with the following symptoms to please delay a visit to the Museum: fever, flu symptoms, upper respiratory infections, cold symptoms, diarrhea or vomiting, pink eye, lice, strep throat, or any of the following contagious diseases: measles, mumps, rubella, roseola, and chicken pox. If Museum staff observes visitors that appear sick or exhibit any of the symptoms above, they will be asked to leave the Museum. In addition, our own staff have been given direction to stay home if they show or feel any signs of being ill.

Birthday Parties and Facility Rentals
Party and rental bookings will continue as scheduled with our routine room cleaning and sanitization following each party group. Afterschool Programs and Summer Camps
As we diligently plan for an exciting spring and summer of learning, we are looking forward to welcoming children each week for our Nature Beats and Summer Camp programs. The Gala
Our favorite foodie fundraiser of the year is currently scheduled for Friday, May 15. We hope to see you there! We do have a contingency plan and will reschedule to a later date if it is in the best interest of the health and safety of our guests, sponsors, and vendors. This growing concern is new to all of us, and I appreciate the understanding and flexibility of our community as we move through this together.
