20th anniversary time capsule event

Since the opening of the Greensboro Children’s Museum in 1999, the Museum and the Downtown Greensboro community has experienced tremendous growth and both have plans to grow even more! In celebration of the Museum’s 20th birthday, GCM is partnering with the Greensboro Convention and Visitors Bureau to invite Downtown Greensboro businesses to create a snapshot of time. Local attractions will provide items to be placed in a time capsule in front of the Museum to preserve and celebrate the growth of Downtown Greensboro over the past 20 years. Join us as we collect items to be placed in the time capsule that will be sealed later this summer and opened in 50 years.

Drop off items that preserve and celebrate the growth of Downtown Greensboro, such as photos, letters, and small mementos. Documents can be up to 8.5″ tall x 11″ wide x.5″ thick. Other items can be no larger than a fist. The time capsule will be sealed upon collection of items and opened in 50 years. This event is free and open to the public.
